Welcome to Lakeland Wood Crafting

Lakeland Wood Crafting is a small woodworking business located in Fremont, Michigan, owned and operated by the father and son team of Gary and Michael Switzer.  What started as a hobby with a passion for creating, turned into a family business.  We consider Lakeland Wood Crafting an opportunity to skillfully make quality wooden products using everything from basic hand tools to a computer controlled machines.   

The products made at Lakeland Wood Crafting range from smaller items such as cutting boards, wooden magnets and picture frames to custom cabinets, built-ins, and one-of-a-kind furniture such as bed frames, dressers, tables and desks.

Our recent interest is making personal cremation urns.  The origin of making wooden urns started when Gary made an urn for his father in 2006.  Soon after, there were requests to make urns for other friends and family members.  That organic beginning prompted us to focus on multiple designs and wood species options.
